Bridging Velar Tokens: Moving Tokens from Stacks Chain to Ethereum
Bridging Velar Tokens: Moving Tokens from Stacks Chain to Ethereum
Bridging Velar Tokens: Moving Tokens from Stacks Chain to Ethereum

Introduction
$Velar is a cross-chain token that exists on both the Stacks and Ethereum blockchains. This dual existence allows $VELAR to serve as a utility token within the Stacks ecosystem and as a trading token on Ethereum. Bridging $VELAR tokens enables users to seamlessly transfer their tokens between these two networks, providing them with the flexibility to participate in decentralized applications (dApps) and ecosystems on both chains.
In this guide, we will walk you through the process of bridging your $VELAR tokens from the Stacks chain to the Ethereum chain. By following these steps, you can easily move your tokens and start using them within the Ethereum ecosystem.
Bridging $Velar Token from Stacks to Ethereum Chain
If you currently hold your $VELAR tokens on the Stacks chain, follow these steps to bridge them to the Ethereum chain:
Set Up an Ethereum-Compatible Wallet:
Choose an Ethereum-compatible wallet, such as MetaMask.
Install the wallet extension in your web browser or download the mobile app.
Create a new wallet or import an existing one using your seed phrase.
Ensure that you have securely backed up your wallet's private key or seed phrase.
Access the Velar Bridge:
Open your web browser and navigate to the Velar Bridge following this link.
Connect your Stacks-compatible wallet (Leather or Xverse Wallet) by clicking on the "Connect Wallet" button and following the prompts.
Connect your MetaMask wallet by selecting it from the wallet options.
3. Bridge $VELAR Tokens:
On the Velar Bridge interface, select the "Stacks to Ethereum" option.
Enter the amount of $VELAR tokens you want to bridge.
Confirm the transaction in your Stacks-compatible wallet.
Wait for the bridging process to complete. This may take a few hours.
4. Verify the Bridged Tokens:
Once the bridging process is finished, check your Ethereum-compatible wallet (MetaMask) to ensure that the $VELAR tokens have been successfully bridged.
You should now see the bridged $VELAR tokens in your Ethereum wallet balance.
Reminder: Always use the Velar Bridge for transfers between SIP-010 and ERC-20 tokens. Sending Stacks (SIP-010) Velar directly to an Ethereum (ERC-20) address will result in a total loss of tokens. Double-check addresses and amounts before confirming transactions, and keep your private keys secure. If you need assistance, refer to the Velar Bridge documentation or reach out to our community support channels.
Please note that the current bridging fee is set at 30 $VELAR to cover the necessary ETH/STX gas fees. Keep in mind that transactions may take a few hours to complete, depending on network congestion and other factors.
Congratulations! You have successfully bridged your $VELAR tokens from the Stacks chain to the Ethereum chain. You can now use your $VELAR tokens within the Ethereum ecosystem, including trading on decentralized exchanges (DEXes) or depositing your tokens on Centralized exchanges such as Bybit or Gate.io for trading.
Remember that bridging tokens involves interacting with smart contracts and blockchain networks. Always verify the addresses and amounts before confirming any transactions, and keep your private keys and seed phrases secure.
If you encounter any difficulties during the bridging process, consult the official Velar Bridge documentation or seek assistance from the Velar community support channels.
Happy bridging!
